Although I wear many hats, graphic design has always been my first love. High quality design is not just an interest; it's my passion.
SMy first foray into the graphic design business happened in 1995 during a summer internship. Spending a summer designing websites was so much fun, I've been doing it ever since. With every design I try to blend function with form into a display that users find visually interesting.
High quality design must not only captivate, it must perform. A lot of bells and whistles can distract from the basic message. Whether it is a website, email, logo or print brochure, function must be maintained so that the design serves it's purpose. Combining graphic design with basic elements of direct marketing can make a good work of art, a great work of art. My background in direct marketing helps give my design direction and achieve results!
Ever since I was a child, I was always involved in some type of design project. Then once the web started a new revolution in the '90s, I became enthralled with web and graphic design.
I've been designing websites since my college days and am self-taught on HTML, CSS and the Adobe Creative Suite. To hone my skills even further, I recently took some advanced classes at Sessions College of Design.
Since I have been so involved wtih business, marketing and product management in my career, it brings a thoughtfulness to my designs that you may not find in many other designers. I understand that in addition to being visually stimulating, design must fulfill a goal- it must prompt the end user to take action and meet the clients objectives.
I am a fashion enthusiast, and I especially love accessories. The right bag or pair of shoes can make any boring outfit pop!
Most of my business experience is in online marketing, ecommerce and product management.
Although I've done both print and online projects, I am most interested in interactive design.
